This week’s host is a little bit different than usual. 8 months ago I was engulfed by an original musical written by local actor Ian Mullan. It had a script but no music, which is where I came in. After having helped Produce a production of Rocky Horror with Sam Horak we took on the task of assembling a band consisting of Gary and Neil Peacock, Rob Tough and Dale Bodreau. We also hired on musician Michelle Skelding and actor Conor Purdy to take on the other 2 acting rolls in the production.
Dale took on the task of writing a few more of the songs, Myself, Neil, Jason Vautour and Laura Peek also contributing a song to the show and we asked Paul Gailunas for permission to use the Piggy classic Gottingen Street, he said yes.
This Monday the cast will be performing all of the songs from the musical at R4$ for the first time. We’ve been working really hard at this and we’re pretty proud of what we have so far. The actual performance of the show is part of The Queer Acts Festival happening July 19th – 22nd, check this out to see more details: http://www.facebook.com/events/258986927539176/
There’s $200 on the wheel and a lot more going on, I do hope to see you there.
