I first saw Picnicface at The One World Cafe ages ago. This girl I dug was into one of the members so I wasn’t too stoked on them in the beginning.

They started having a regular sketch show at a bar called Ginger’s. During one of the earlier shows they asked my band at the time, Benefit Party, to play a short set. It was at the end of the night and about 90 percent of the crowed left, but it was fun.

Soon after the bi-weekly event exploded with the help of their viral video’s, specifically “Powerthirst” and they ended up selling out every single show with a linup that went all the way down the street.

Ginger’s eventually closed and they shopped the show to The Paragon and then found a home at Jokers Comedy Club. I went as often as I could, It wasn’t quite the same as Ginger’s but you could order Nachos and it was awesome.

Joker’s eventually closed it’s doors and Picnicface was too busy with everything else they were working on to even conceive the idea of doing the live show again.

The show is currently airing on the Comedy Network every Wednesday. I was fortunate enough to see their movie Roller Town in the Atlantic Film Festival. I hope it get’s distribution soon so you can check it out too!
